Travel is a luxury commodity. It is enjoyed by the majority, but truly experienced by the few. Quality travel service is not an exclusive concept, but is successfully defined by an attitude, derived from a genuine passion to deliver and fulfil.

Travel by Amanda Limited, is, by its very name travel, by Amanda.

I am a private travel consultant, with over 20 years experience and have travelled extensively, across the 5 Continents, although I, like you, continue to discover unchartered destinations and properties across the globe. As a wholly dedicated and private consultant, I am available to organise a wide variety of wonderful travel opportunities on your behalf, personally tailor made to your specifics.

As an established client, I make myself available to you on a 24-hour basis, to support you prior to, during and upon your return. This enables you to organise your personal travel at your convenience and allows you to Travel with confidence in the knowledge that I am only a telephone call away.

My company was founded in 1999 when I recognised that a union of my skills sets, dedication and knowledge, together with my clients needs, would enable me to deliver a concept, based on the highest level of personal service and travel advice on a one-to-one basis.

Minaret Camp - New Zealand
Minaret Station is New Zealand's first luxury tented camp located at the head of a stunningly picturesque glacial valley in the heart of the Southern Alps. Accessible only by helicopterMinaret Station treats those fortunate enough to experience this wilderness landscape to a level of comfort and style never before available in the New Zealand mountains. Guests are hosted under canvas in luxuriously furnished tented suites complete with wall to wall sheepskin carpet. King beds, private deck set with its own hot tub, full en-suite with double vanity and endless showers. Le Portetta - Courchevel

Nestled in the trees high above Courchevel 1650 at Belvedere with the ski lifts right on your doorstep are the stunning ski-in/ski-out Le Portetta Hotel, Apartments and Mountain Lodges. Family Rooms in the hotel are pefect sleeping 2 Adults and 2 children (in a bunk room) and for larger families, the apartments give you all the space and freedom you need, with full access to the hotel facilities. For larger groups the Mountain Lodges will take your breath away. No detail has been spared, beautifully appointed bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas with some of the best service and cuisine I have experienced. Babysitting is available, although there is no creche on site. This is a great hotel for families with teenagers as everything is within walking distance of the property. Only a 25 minute transfer from Moutiers train station (which is served twice weekly on a Friday and Saturday directly on Eurostar from St. Pancreas), it makes for easy travel. Kids can while away the journey with games, laptops, ipods etc (whatever happened to a game of cards or a spot of eye spy!) and have plenty of space to wonder around and stretch their legs. Alternatively, you can self drive or transfer by Road from Geneva Airport in Approx two and a half hours.With their state of the art in house spa to tend to your aching muscles and tired legs after a day of skiing, you will go a long way to find such quality and value in the French Alps.

Ballyfin - Ireland
Arriving at Ballyfin was how I imagine it would feel arriving at Downton Abbey - it was inspiring, yet very informal. As we stepped out of the car, we were greeted by the wonderful staff of this spectacular property, the smiling friendly faces that Ireland is so famous for. A very carefully chosen team of experts - people who know what they are doing but are very discrete and understated - the pick of the bunch. You felt like you had arrived home. This is not like a hotel and although there are many country houses who claim the same, Ballyfin does not feel like a hotel. They have found a very clever way of making you feel like this magnificent home is yours when you are there, not like a guest, but as one would feel if they had a set of keys! I wanted to kick off my shoes when I walk through the front door and throw myself on the couch infront of the fire. I feel sure that if I had, no one would have blinked an eye.Although the decor is very grand, with some wonderful Italian design influences, it's very warm and welcoming. For instance, you will see touches like a jar of home made cookies in the library, just the ticket. The rooms, and in particular the bathrooms, are some of the best I have seen with such detail and views (From some of the bathrooms too). Excellent beds, linens and deep soaking bath tubs with a large separate rain shower. Without doubt, The Lady Caroline Coote Room has one of best vistas, although it has to be said that all the rooms have wonderful views. I remember thinking that I could have quite easily moved in for a few days and not moved from the bed! There is no formal restaurant location and dinner can take place at any given location in the house, depending on the numbers in your party or in house guests. The conservatory is a wonderful location for lunch or afternoon Tea - I took lunch here on a sunny afternoon and I was still there 3 hours later (with good company and good wine of course!). The food is superb and can be as simple or as creative as you wish. The chef openly invites all guests to say what they would like to eat, although an a la carte menu is produced every evening. Providing they have the ingredients in, they are happy to prepare whatever you pallet desires. A full range of activities can be organised if you wish from fishing to Archery or a trip to one of Ireland's Oldest Pubs in an open top vintage Rolls Royce. Nothing is too much trouble. If you like to walk or run, there are some wonderful routes on the estate. If you like a run in the morning, but are happy with a maximum of 30 mins like me, the path around the lake and through the woods is a wonderful wake up call! With the completion of the spa and indoor pool, this makes for a fabulous long break, topping he bill for me of weekend retreats in Europe. Ballyfin is a destination in itself and one of the best properties I have seen in quite some time.
